Ever since we upgraded our home and opened up the attic to make a living space out of it, I have felt that the heating system that we have is simply not enough. I want the whole house to be warm during the winter months, and I feel that people should not be afraid to use the attic because it is too cold. I want every inch of my living space to be usable, otherwise I feel like I am wasting my house. I am sure that the furnace people will be able to determine the right amount of heating for my home. I think that this upgrade is one of the better ones that I will be doing this year. There’s still a lot of work to do, but I think that this is the most pressing issue right now.

I live in an old house shaped like an L; the inner yard is quite big, and is closed on the East by a tall wall, and on the South by a two floor brick barn/stable, that nowadays we use as a garage, canteen and such. While the interiors of my property are to my liking – from the folding dining tables to the wallpaper to the carpets, it’s the exterior I need to work on. The previous owners paved all the yard with square cement blocks, leaving out only two tiny stripes bordering the wall to serve as flowerbeds and kitchen garden. I filled them up with flowers and raspberry bushes, but I dream of taking off all the paving, having nice rich soil taken in and planting grass and more flower bushes, and perhaps a few evergreen shrubberies. It ought to be the kind of resistant grass than can be trod upon. I’d also add a big iron gazebo on wich roses could climb. Below it I would place some outdoor furniture and make it cozy, and nice to sit in the summertime.
